Modern Guitar Course

"Music has the power to transcend boundaries,
unite hearts, and ignite a spark of
change in the world."

The teaching experience gained over the years has convinced me that, for those who wish to "make music" through the practice of the instrument regardless of age, the study path cannot be structured with programs and courses enclosed in overly rigid schemes. It is necessary, therefore, that the path itself be flexible to accommodate and respect the aspirations of each student.

The current musical and social reality demands choices and horizons that must meet new didactic needs and modern technologies applied to music, thus aligning with the different sensitivity of the students.

I offer didactic programs that include the introduction of a preparatory level with specific methodology for teaching children and proposes the expansion of a repertoire of modern and contemporary music (blues, folk, rock, jazz, etc.) as well as ensemble music, a fundamental subject for the complete formation of the students and their greater involvement in "making music."

STUDY PLAN
The didactic path of modern guitar is divided into a preparatory course and three subsequent Levels, each of which is designed to develop specific theoretical and practical skills in the student.

Each level involves a thorough and gradual study of the most commonly used techniques in modern guitar playing (vibrato, bending, legato, alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, hybrid picking, etc.) which will be strictly practiced with the support of a metronome, whose speed will always be related to the level of preparation reached by the student.

Preparatory Course
The program introduces the instrument with instructions on the use of the upper limbs, the position of the instrument and the body while playing to make the lesson less tiring and enjoyable. It covers tuning methods and tools, as well as information about musical notation.

At the end of each educational path, it will be the teacher's responsibility to assess the level of preparation achieved by the student through final tests in order to determine the suitability of individual students for progression to the next level.

The assessments will consist of sight-reading a moderately difficult score (chords and melody) and performing two pieces (one improvised and the other memorized) chosen by the student from all those studied and analyzed during the different courses.
